Taksar Airport, the only airport in Bhojpur of Province 1, remains closed for repair work. The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), Bhojpur, said the airport has been closed for the past one month for repair works on a twin otter plane, and will likely last two more weeks.

Many local residents have been affected by the closure, especially patients referred to other hospitals outside the district, people in need of air travel to reach the capital for emergency purposes, and aged and differently-abled people.

Bhojpur airport traffic controller senior officer Bijay Shrestha said the airport used to take five flights from Bhojpur to Kathmandu in a week and one flight to Biratnagar. (RSS)
