The Nepal Media Society (NMS), the umbrella organisation of mainstream media outlets in the country, has elected its new executive committee under the leadership of Subha Shanker Kandel.

The second general assembly of the society on Monday elected ABC News Chairman and incumbent General Secretary Kandel as the new chairman and Sagarmatha TV Chairman Nirmal Gurung as its vice chairman.

Likewise, the assembly elected publisher of Arthik Abhiyan and incumbent Secretary Madan Lamsal as general secretary, News 24 Chairman Anil Joshi and Karobar Daily Manager Sishir Bhatta as secretaries and Filmy TV Director Nikita Poudel as treasurer. A total of 17 media outlets are associated with the NMS.
