Vehicular movement has been obstructed at the Rasuwagadhi border point for the past week after Ghattekhola bridge at Goisainkunda Rural Municipality-2 was damaged by the flooded stream. Chief District Officer Krishna Paudel said the local administration has banned vehicles from crossing the bridge after the floods damaged the foundation of the bridge.

Around 200 container trucks have been stranded on the road. Businessmen have since started transporting goods using porters to Timure.

Chief of the Division Road Office in Nuwakot Niraj Shakya said they had started repair works on the bridge on Tuesday. (PR)
