The fifth edition of The Kathmandu Post Edu Con (Education Fair) that targeted students aspiring university education at home or abroad, concluded with an overwhelming participation of students and guardians.
The three-day event at the Capital’s Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall featured representatives of more than 100 national and international academic institutions which showcased their programmes and courses. Besides showcasing the services of the academic institutions, the fair also offered career guidance to the prospective students, according to the organisers.
Over the three days, the visiting students and guardians exploited the opportunity at the fair to compare the fees and quality of the colleges and universities under one roof.
“The fair was extremely beneficial to me as I could meet representatives from different colleges from here and abroad,” said Sujata Sharma of Bhaktapur, who wants to pursue a Bachelors degree in Information Technology.
Like Sharma, thousands of students are waiting for their Grade 12 results which is due in a fortnight’s time.
The visitors to the fair also got to listen to and interact with some of the popular figures in the society. Miss Nepal Srinkhala Khatiwada, Chief Executive Officer of Teach for Nepal Shishir Khanal, comedian Sandeep Chhetri, among others, interacted with the visitors during the three day event.
