Government Spokesperson and Information Minister Gokul Baskota said Nepal Police and Armed Police Force will now have three and two AIGs respectively.
Home Ministry, which has been preparing the draft of Federal Police Act, had suggested five AIGs in Nepal Police and three in APF.
The Cabinet has also decided to fulfill the vacant posts in Nepal Police as per the federal structure. The meeting has added 3,101 posts in Nepal Police. The government has added one Senior Superintendent of Police (technical), 14 Superintendent of Police (SP), 12 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and 50 inspectors.
The meeting also endorsed posts for Nawalparasi (East) and Rukum (East) districts.
