The Tribhuvan University (TU) has started ‘examinations management information technology system’ to issue transcript to the students in a single day.
TU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Tirtharaj Khaniya marked the beginning of the system at the Office of the Controller of Examinations on Sunday by providing the transcript to a B Ed graduate Manoj Kumar Singh.
“Now, TU has been IT-friendly. We have been putting in efforts to make TU activities paperless,” said Prof Dr Khaniya.
Khaniya said the service would be launched in the regional level offices and campuses soon, adding that the online system would be made systematic by 2020 and bring in more reforms in examination systems.
Speaking on the occasion, Examination Controller Pushpa Raj Joshi said with the system in place the students would be able to collect their transcripts on the same day they filled up their form. Earlier, the students had to wait for a week to obtain their transcript.
At first, the TU would distribute the transcript in a single day only to the B Ed students as a trial but would issue the transcript to all the students within a week.
The new technology can print 45 transcripts in a minute. The TU would distribute registration cards, examination forms, mark-sheets and provisional certificates with the same system.
