Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is closing its field office in Biratnagar.
A media briefing issued on the ministry’s website on Monday said the purpose for which the camp office was opened has been fulfilled and Government of India has already decided to wind up the office and relocate the personnel.
The camp office was opened in 2008 to deal with the situation arising out of devastating Koshi floods, the ministry said.
The decision to close the office was conveyed by Indian PM Narendra Modi to PM KP Sharma Oli during his recent visit.
