CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the party has focused its energy on the economic development of the nation.

The CPN (MC) Chairman said so during a meeting with the Chinese delegation led by the Communist Party of China's vice president for Beijing Lizi Yang at his private residence in Khumaltar on Wednesday.

“Our main focus is on the development of tourism sector while prioritising expansion of contact network,” said Dahal, “We can develop the tourism sector only when we expand our road, railway and contact networks.”

Recalling his first China visit as Prime Minister of Nepal, Dahal said his meeting with the then Chinese President Hu Jintao at the time was focused on the expansion of connectivity.

“I had held discussions on the same topic with incumbent Chinese President Xi Jinping during my second China visit,” said Dahal.

Likewise, the Chinese delegation applauded the leadership capacity of Dahal terming him the practical leader of Nepal.

Nepal is an attractive destination for the Chinese people and the Chinese investors were interested in the promotion of Nepal's tourism, said the delegation.
