Jyoti Medical in Tulsipur remained tense throughout the day on Wednesday following the death of a patient.

Kith and kin of the deceased picketed the medical and also staged a demonstration claiming that Prema Kumal, 40, of Kumal Village, Tulsipur-7 died due to the negligence of the doctor. Kumal had gone to the health facility to receive treatment for stomach pain today.

Kumal’s relatives claimed her condition deteriorated after Dr Prakash Nepali gave her painkillers and administered an injection.

Later, she was rushed to the Rapti Zonal Hospital for treatment but she breathed her last on the way, Area Police Office, Tulsipur said.

DSP Prakash Sapkota said Dr Nepali and medical owner Yam Bahadur Dhaulakoti have been taken under control after the incident.
