Rasuwa
Three girls, including two of a family, died in a house fire at Naukunda Rural Municipality-5 in Rasuwa district on Saturday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sharad Thapa said that a hut belonging to Bir Bahadur Moktan of Sisneri caught the fire at around 3pm, killing three girls.
Bir Bahadur’s daughters seven-year-old Rifula and Mangali (3), and Asmita Moktan (6), the daughter of Bir Bahadur’s brother Dhan Bahadur died in the inferno.
There were no guardians in the house when the incident occurred. It is suspected that the fire broke out as the children played with a lighter. The bodies were taken to Trishuli Hospital for postmortem.
Food grains stored in the house, clothes and other valuables were destroyed in the fire, police said. (PR)
