The viral influenza epidemic in Kalikot is gradually coming under control, the District Health Office said on Sunday.

Influenza viruses AH3 and B at places like Khadachakra, Naraharinath, Sanni-tribeni and Raskot have claimed eight lives and infected thousands of people in the past three weeks.

The district health authority says both prevalence and incidence of the flu have lowered in the last couple of days.

Health teams have already treated more than 4,000 people in the flu-affected areas. (PR)
