A Nepali girl forced to live with her mother in a prison in India has been rescued.
The district child welfare board rescued Karishma BK of Athbiskot municipality-1 of the district. The six-year-old has been brought home.
She had been living with her mother Anita Kami since the past five years. Anita is serving a seven-year jail sentence after being found guilty of drug peddling, according to Manbir Oli, child rights officer at the Board. Dehat, an NGO in India communicated to the Board about Karishma.
Karishma is currently in an early childhood development centre in Kathmandu for education. RSS
