A girl died after a tipper hit a scooter that she was riding on in Pulbazaar of Banepa on Saturday. 

The tipper (Ba 4 Kha 4649) heading to Banepa from Kathmandu hit the scooter (Ba 55 Pa 3725), riding through the same direction, killing 20-year-old Bimala Thagunna of Shuklaphanta-8 in Kanchanpur district, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mahendra Marasini said.

Thagunna, who are critically injured in the incident, breathed her last while receiving treatment at Scheer Memorial Hospital, Banepa. The scooter driver Gangaram Rijal is injured by the accident.

Police have impounded the tipper and its driver for investigation.

Some locals tried to obstruct the Araniko highway following the accident but police used force to disperse the agitated crowd and cleared the highway. RSS
