A person died and three others sustained critical injuries when a Bolero jeep they were travelling in met with an accident in Rautamai Rural Municipality-4 of Udayapur district on Tuesday.

According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, the deceased has been identified as Kamal Bahadur Magar, 45, of Bokse, Triyuga Municipality-10 of the district.

Jeep driver Ratna Rai, 35, Bhakta Bahadur Sarki, 40, and Nirmala Rai, 40, of Rautamai-4 were injured in the incident. Preparations are underway to take them to a hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred when the driver of the jeep (Sa 1 Cha 1228) laden with oranges lost its control and fell some 300 metres down the road, police said.
