The leaders agreed to prepare a roadmap on party rebuilding and present it to the party’s Central Working Committee. The roadmap envisages, among others, inclusion of youth leaders at the decision making level, ending factional politics and reinventing party’s ideological position.
The meeting also deliberated on whether to seek resignation of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba. But could not reach a consensus.
While leaders like Thapa, Gurung and Pandey were in favour of change in the party leadership, leaders close to Deuba were of the view that he alone should not be held responsible for the electoral debacle.
According to Khatiwada, the one thing everyone agreed on was putting an end to factional politics.
