Nepal urges global partnership at UN

Nepal has firmly moved towards achieving high and sustainable economic growth through industrial development, Yam Kumari Khatiwada, secretary at the Ministry of Industry, said at a United Nations conference in Vienna on Tuesday.
While addressing the 17th General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido), Khatiwada, who is leading the Nepali delegation at the UN conference, highlighted that Nepal is striving to achieve industrial objectives for a strengthened global partnership, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“International support is more pertinent for the least developed countries (LDCs) like Nepal,” said, calling on Unido, its members and all other global partners to
join hands with Nepal in the quest to achieve industrial objectives for a strengthened global partnership.
The Unido conference, which started on November 27 at the Unido Headquarters in Vienna, will conclude on December 1. Prakash Kumar Suvedi, permanent representative of Nepal to the Unido, and other high level officials from the Ministry of Industry and the Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Vienna the members of the Nepali delegation.
