Naya Shakti Nepal Party’s central executive member and former Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police (AIG) Ganesh Raj Rai has quit his membership of the party.
In a statement on Tuesday, Rai said he decided to abandon politics citing lack of discipline and dedication in the party leadership. “I decided to remain aloof from politics as the quality of discipline and dedication could not be established in the party leadership,” Rai stated.
“As a person habituated to work in a strict discipline and system, I didn’t feel comfortable to work in a political organisation which functions with the command of party leader and without adherence to the rule,” Rai said in his statement.
Former AIG Rai remained in the party for two years and headed the party’s security and investigation departments.
