CPN-UML has asked its party members contesting in the upcoming federal parliamentary and provincial assembly polls as rebel candidates to withdraw their candidacy or else face the music.

The disciplinary commission of the party issued a statement on Saturday that read: “The party will take action against the candidates who will make public statement against party decision, remain unhelpful in election activities and field themselves as rebel candidates against the party’s official candidates.”

“The commission humbly urges all the party members to refrain from making impulsive decisions like boycotting the party’s policy, procedure and discipline,” read the statement, adding that the party will have no option other than to resort to stern measures in order to protect the party’s charter and dignity.
