A girl died after being stung by a hornet in Darchula on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Poonam Thagunna, 11, daughter of Harak Singh Thagunna of Mahakali Municipality-7, according to the District Police Office, Darchula.

Police said that the incident took place on Monday night when she was cutting grass near her house.

Poonam, who was referred to Pithauragadh of India from the District Hospital, Darchula, breathed her last on the way.

Parbati Thagunna, mother of Poonam, was also injured in the incident and her condition is normal, according to hospital. RSS
