Inaugurating a programme organised in Pokhara on Monday, Sharma said that the government should be focused on protecting the rights of every citizens in the democratic process.
Saying the local levels will have an instrumental role in the protection of rights, Sharma urged all and sundry to be a role model.
Underscoring that all the infrastructure should be disabled-friendly, Chairman Sharma said that the parties should not only write manifestos, but also implement them.
The NHRC Chairman said that the Nepal’s constitution is best in the world, urging one and all to pile pressure on the government to protect the fundamental rights provided by the statute.
Moreover, Sharma committed to make a help desk for the disabled in the Commission to ensure that people with special needs live a respectful life with rights.
