Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba sent a congratulatory message to Xi Jinping, president of the People’s Republic of China and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, on Wednesday on the successful holding of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, and his re-election as the party chief.

In his message, Deuba said Xi’s re-election is an indication of the great confidence that the Chinese people and the Communist Party have placed in his dynamic leadership, a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said.

Noting unprecedented strides made by China in socio-economic and technological developments and in improving the quality of life of the Chinese people, PM Deuba applauded Xi’s vision of ‘global community of common destiny for all humankind’ and greater cooperation among nations for prosperity.

The PM also expressed his confidence that Nepal-China relations would reach a new level in the days to come, according to the statement. The 19th national congress of the CPC has appointed seven members to the Politburo Standing Committee.
