A group of three youths assaulted Kalikot-based journalist Arjun Prasad Bhattarai in Manma, the district headquarters of Kalikot, on Friday evening.

Mahendra Shahi, Bishal Shahi and Bhupendra Shahi attacked and injured journalist Bhattarai, said police.

The assailants are on the run. The seriously injured journo was taken to Nepal Medical College in Kohalpur as his treatment was not possible in the district. According to the family, Bhattarai, who is the district president of Press Centre, is still unconscious. 

Meanwhile, various media organisations denounced the attack and demanded strong action against the guilty. (PR)
