A person died and another sustained critical injuries after a bike they were riding on met with an accident at Belbari Municipality-11 of Morang district along the East-West Highway on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as pillion rider Ashok Rai, 39, of Triyuga Municipality. He breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Police said that bike rider Sanam Tamang, 19, of Pathari Sanischare Municipality-1 of Morang district, who was critically injured in the incident, is undergoing treatment at the same health facility.

Inspector Ramji Katuwal of the Area Police Ofice, Belbari, police have impounded the bike (Ko 21 Pa 4210). RSS
