Landslides since Friday have obstructed vehicular movement along Barhabise-Kathmandu road of the Araniko Highway.

The landslides have obstructed road sections at Mahabhir and Juro in Sindhupalchok district.

Mud and stones have been falling, making it difficult to clear the landslide debris, said Area Police Office, Barhabise.

A mini truck struck by the landslides fell into the Sunkoshi river on Friday night. 

Inspector Pancha Kumar Bakhu said passengers, mainly tourists and sick 

people, travelling through the road were facing difficulties. “It may take a few days to clear the debris,” he added.

Jure landslides in 2014 had blocked the Sunkoshi river.
