A man died and another sustained critical injuries when a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall buried a motorbike they were riding on at Dobhan Siddhababa in Tinau-2 of Palpa along the Siddhartha Highway on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as bike rider Grihapati Shakya, 35, of Tansen-3.
Critically injured in the incident, Shakya was rushed to Manigram where he breathed his last during the course of treatment, traffic police Chief Prabin Acharya said.
Pillion rider Ajay Shrestha, 50, was seriously injured in the incident. He has been taken to the Lumbini Zonal Hospital in Butwal for treatment.
The two-wheeler (Lu 13 Pa 1365) was heading towards Tansen of Palpa from Butwal when the incident occurred last night.
