M7.0 quake strikes China's Sichuan province

Chinese medias have reported 175 people were injured, 28 of them seriously, when the quake hit at around 21:21 (13:20 GMT) Tuesday. Some reports said at least five tourists were dead and over 60 others were injured.

China's National Commission for Disaster Reduction has stated as many as 130,000 homes were damaged in the quake, BBC reported.
China has mobilised large number of security personnel, including fire officers and soldiers, with sniffer dogs for rescue operation.

President Xi Jinping called for all-out efforts to organise relief work and rescue the injured after the quake, reported People's Daily China.
Meanwhile, another quake measuring 6.6 on Richter Scale hit Jinghe County in North West Xinjiang province on Wednesday. No casualties have been reported so far in the quake.
