Kafle elected NRNA Canada Chairman
The 10th Convention of NRNA Canada has elected Gopi Kafle as its chairman and Chirinjivi Ghimire as general secretary.
The 10th Convention of NRNA Canada has elected Gopi Kafle as its chairman and Chirinjivi Ghimire as general secretary.
Kafle garnered 11 votes while his rival Devendra Subedi secured only 6 votes during the election held in Toronto, Canada on Saturday. A total of 17 NCC representatives cast their votes. Chirinjivi Ghimire secured 12 votes to be elected as the general secretary while his rival candidate Dinesh Ghimire secured only 5 votes.
The convention elected Raj Kumar Mahat, Ramesh Baniya, and Madhav Dahal as vice chairmen, Devi Adhikari as secretary, Surya Sapkota as treasurer, and Rabindra Raj Ghimire as spokesperson. The 17 NCC members were elected through an election held on July 23 voted to elect new office bearers for a two-year term.
Likewise, Bimala Sapkota, Pramila Basnet, Karuna Karki, Binod Rana, Deepak Shrestha, Chandra Adhikari, Subash Giri, Devendra Subedi and Dinesh Ghimire have elected as the members.
The programme presided over by NRNA Canada Chairman Tulasi Sapkota was inaugurated by chief guest and Nepali ambassador to Canada and Cuba Kali Prasad Pokharel.
