A 16-year-old boy was murdered in Bara district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Nishant Sapkota of Gairi Tole, Nijgadh-5.

According to the Inspector Kailash Kumar KC of the Area Police Office, Nijgadh, Sapkota, a ninth grader at the Sarbajanik Secondary School Nijgadh, was murdered by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon in the house of Deepak Thapa.

A blood-stained chulesi was recovered from the incident site, he added.

Police said that they have taken Thapa under control for interrogation.

The body of Sapkota has been send to the Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital in Birgunj for postmortem.
