Team formed to monitor Dr KC’s health

The health team, led by Dr Pradeep Krishna Shrestha, head of department of general medicine at the TUTH, has Dr Dibya Singh (nephrologist), Dr Subash Acharya (intensivist), Dr Gentle Sundar Shrestha (anaesthesiologist), Tara Karki (nurse), Dr Suman Baral (teaching assistant) and Dr Santosh Kshetry of nephrology unit as members.
According to a letter dispatched by the TUTH, a meeting chaired by Dr Jagdish Prasad Agrawal, dean of the Institute of Medicine (IoM), decided to form the health team in view of Dr KC’s deteriorating health condition.
Surviving only on water and IV fluids, Dr KC has developed chest pain and headache. Dr KC, who has been demanding sweeping reforms in the country’s medical education sector, is on his 11th hunger strike saying many of his demands are yet to be addressed despite the government pledging to do so in the past.
