Sarlahi
Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has said the Madhesi people are excited about the upcoming local level elections in Province 2. Yadav is in Sarlahi to take stock of the preparations for the polls scheduled to be held in eight Tarai districts on September 18.
Talking to journalists in Lalbandi on Friday, Yadav ruled out the possibility of further postponement of the polls in the province. The Election Commission has expedited its preparations.
Yadav expressed his hope that the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal, which has boycotted two rounds of the local polls, would participate in the vote. According to the CEC, the poll authority is effortful to minimise the invalid vote percentage.
