Two persons died in a scooter accident at Aapkholi in Bhalubang of Rapti Rural Municipality-1 in the district on Thursday night.

The deceased have been identified as scooter rider Sunil Gaire, 27, of Karkando, Banke, and pillion rider Kabiram Bhandari, 25, of Jumrikanda-25, Pyuthan-5.

Police said that incident occurred when the two-wheeler (Lu 32 Pa 948) heading towards Pyuthan from Bhalubang skidded off the road and fell into a river.

Though the incident occurred last night, the bodies were recovered only this morning, according to Bhalubang Area Police Office.
