Fifty people have been taken ill after enjoying a feast during a Sharadda ceremony—annual death ritual in memory of deceased ancestor—in Piple of Belkotgadi Municipality-5 in the district on Wednesday.
Of those fallen ill, 10 are said to be serious and have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment.
The victims complained of diarrhoea, fever and vomiting after they consumed the food Bhoj Bahadur Ale Magar’s house on Sunday.
According to a local Krishna Prasad, 10 people of two families have been ferried to Kathmandu on an ambulance for treatment on Wednesday.
The other people, who fell sick after eating at Magar’s house, have been sent to local hospital after they showed no sign of recovery at local health post, said ward chairman Ananta Nepal.
