The skeletal of a woman, who was missing for the past three weeks, were found on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Devi May Fago of Sangrumba, Ilam Municipality-12.

Fago had left her home on June 21 for election publicity campaign, but did not return home, police said.

Her skeletal remains was found hanging from a tree at a field belonging to Dhan Bahadur Bohara of Dokantole in Ilam municipality – 12.

After Fago did not return home, her father had filed a case at the District Police Office, Ilam, on June 24.

Locals informed the police after they saw the skeleton while collecting the grass, Inspector Ambar Bahadur Niraula said.

The police identified the person by her clothes and slippers.

The skeleton was sent to the District Police Office, Ilam, for DNA test.

Police said that they are looking into the case. RSS
