Founding leader of the Nepali Congress Ram Hari Joshi died on Thursday, the party said.
According to party’s Chief Secretary Krishna Poudel, Joshi who was suffering from asthma passed away at Grande International Hospital where was undergoing treatment for some time. His last rite will be conducted on Friday though other formalities are yet to be finalised, Poudel added. He is known for simple living and for his struggle for democracy at various stages.
He was contemporary of several veteran Congress leaders like BP Koirala, Subarna Sumsher Rana, Ganeshman Singh, Krishna Prasad Koirala, among others. (PR)
