The Nepal Media Society (NMS) has said there is no reason to seek for an excuse to implement clean feed policy in the broadcast of foreign television channels. 

Issuing a statement on Monday, the umbrella organisation of mainstream media outlets in the country stated that the government had unveiled plan of implementing clean feed policy last year and that the entire year was given for making necessary arrangement. There have already been profuse discussions, debates and objections over the government’s planned implementation of the clean feed policy, the statement said, adding that the media plays crucial role in role in protecting nation’s sovereignty and cultural identity and that it should be the main concern of the government as Nepal is sandwiched between two big countries.
