236 diarrhoea outbreaks in 2 months

A total of 236 cases of diarrhoea outbreak were reported in Siraha and Ramechhap districts in the months of May and June, according to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD).
Two persons died in Siraha district where 134 cases of outbreak were reported. The remaining 102 oubreaks occurred in Ramechhap district.
Water-borne diaseses like diarrhoea and cholera are often reported between the months of May and November in the country.
This year only three cholera cases have been reported so far in Lalitpur district.
Last year, 169 cholera cases were reported; 119 of them in Lalitpur.
