A cabinet meeting on Thursday promoted Nahakul Subedi as the chief registrar of Supreme Court.
Subedi was the Secretary at Judicial Council. He was appointed to the chief registrar post by Legal Service Commission a week ago.
The meeting also commissioned foreign secretary to sign the agreement to establish consultation mechanism between Nepal and Australia.
