Issuing a press statement on Tuesday to mark the party's first anniversary, Bhattarai said the role played by his party in its first year was crucial but could not work as per its plan and meet the expectations of the people.
However, the experience gained by the party in its first year had given both excitement and seriousness to draw its future plans, the statement read. The party reiterated its claim that the party would become an alternative force in the country's politics.
Bhattarai said, despite not being provided with election symbol, the party was able to claim victory in some local units and expand its organisational structure across the country in the first phase of local level election.
“Despite many odds, taking part in election with a symbol belonging to others and gaining such achievements should not be undermined,” read the statement.
Naya Shakti claimed it was able to expand its party structure to all seven provinces, 75 districts and 744 local units across the country. The party’s network has also expanded to 28 countries, it claimed.
