The Ministry of Health has approved the proposed master plan to upgrade Bharatpur Hospital to a 1,000-bed health facility and convert it into an academic institution.
Once upgraded to the academic institution, the hospital is expected to directly benefit the students and locals in Chitwan as well as neighbouring districts.
The hospital will now soon start the construction of separate buildings for hospital ward, the academic building, the building for the visitors, parking lot and garden, among other infrastructure, said Raj Kumar Rajbhandari, chairman of the Hospital Development Committee, after the master plan got the government’s go-ahead.
