Nepal Army (NA) soldiers have been deployed at the Jaleshwor Prison, which is jointly run by the Mahottari and Dhanusha districts.
The NA was deployed in view of the possible security challenges in the prison during the second phase of the local polls, according to Jailer, Shovendra Thakur.
A 33 – member team of the NA's Fast Rifle Battalion led by Lieutenant Krishna Hari Khadka has taken over the security of the prison from Tuesday. The NA will retain the responsibility throughout the poll period. The prison currently houses 397 prisoners including 39 women. RSS
