Two under secretaries at Sarlahi District Education Office (DEO) were arrested on bribery charge on Thursday.

Bashudev Timalsina and Ramhari Rijal were caught red-handed with Rs 400,000 from a Lalbandi-based hotel, according to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). 

Indra Prasad Neupane, the chairman of Janajyoti Higher Secondary School Management Committee, and Bishnu Pokharel, the school headmaster, were also arrested from the hotel room.

According to an official at the CIAA Bardibas office, Timalsina and Rijal had demanded the bribe to appoint a teacher at the school.

The CIAA is preparing to take the accused officials to Kathmandu for further investigation.
