The application, built by Build Change for Nepal, provides remote awareness and technical assistance to quake affected home owners. It also gives information on ways to rebuild houses using safety measures.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, NRA Chief Executive Govinda Raj Pokharel said the app would be helpful for people who have been working on constructing earthquake-resistant new homes as well as those planning to build a safe home in the future.
Currently, the app can be downloaded on smartphones that run on the android system.
The app contains NRA’s official message with images, illustrations, audio clips and video information on safe reconstruction.
It also has contact details of government certified trained masons. “NRA has been disseminating such messages via radio, television, and now we are reaching out to
people from mobile app,” said Dinesh Pandey, NRA spokesperson.
Another key feature of the app is that the users can send queries related to the reconstruction of their house. The application is freely available throughout the country in both Nepali and English languages.
