The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Distribution Centre at Lahan on Tuesday detained 19 individuals on charges of power hooking.
In course of an inspection, a joint team comprising the NEA officials and police officials seized equipment used in stealing electricity.
The authorities made the arrests at Bastipur and Govindapur of Lahan Municipality and Bishnupur of Dhangadhimai Municipality located in the northern rim of Siraha, NEA Lahan Distribution Centre Chief, Madhav Prasad Yadav said. The authorities drew Rs 95,000 in fine from those arrested for hooking power.
