Senior litterateur Shyam Prasad Sharma passed away at 4 am at his own residence in Kamaladi on Sunday.
98 – year – old Sharma was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and was known as one of the forerunners in Nepal's progressive literary sector. Sharma had taken part in the Satyagraha uprising against the then despotic Rana regime.
Progressive Writers Association Chairman, Matrika Pokharel, said Sharma's mortal remains will be kept at the premises of Nepal Academy from 10 am to 2 pm before being taken to Pashupati for cremation at 3 pm. He is survived by a single daughter. RSS
