Leader Laxman Lal Karna said the first joint meeting of the all the six parties has entrusted a presidium that includes chairpersons of the six parties to carry out necessary works including party’s registration at the Election Commission.
The meeting completed all the remaining legal and technical issues for the unification as the party was only unified through political decisions of the major leaders.
With the formal endorsement by the central committees, all the movable and immovable properties of the six parties have now been the common property of the RJP-N.
On local level polls, leader Keshav Jha, however, claimed that the party retained its stance not to join local polls until amendments were made to the constitution. He said the RJP-N would back the CPN (Maoist Centre)-led government, claiming that the government has seriously taken up their amendment proposal and has been trying to endorse it.
The nomination date has been postponed for three days to accommodate the RJP-N, as the ruling coalition was preparing to endorse the amendment proposal on Sunday.
With the House meeting postponed until Thursday, the fate of amendment proposal hangs in the balance and the RJP-N is in a wait-and-see mode.
Jha said the party had demanded two days to resolve the conflict.
The RJP-N has already decided to hold its unity national convention within a year and finalise the leadership of the party and its structures.
