Three houses were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at Chuhandanda-4 of Tehrathum district on Friday.
Police said that the houses belonging to Garun Kandangwa and Bhim Kandangwa were destroyed in the fire.
The fire had started from a nearby jungle and spread to the settlement, according to the District Police Office, Tehrathum.
Details of the property gutted in the fire are yet to be established.
Locals and police personnel are battling to extinguish the fire, police Inspector Basudev Yadav of the DPO informed.
