Govt picks Rana as envoy to Japan

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Pratibha Rana has been appointed Nepal’s ambassador to Japan.
Rana, who is the mother-in-law of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, was appointed on Sunday on the recommendation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari. Also on Sunday, Nepal’s Ambassador to Egypt Jhabindra Prasad Aryal was given the responsibility of Morocco and Lebanon as a non-resident ambassador.
Under the latest arrangements, Nepal’s envoy to Belgium has been given the role of non-resident ambassador to Luxembourg, with Ambassador to Pakistan Sewa Lamsal also looking into Iran affairs; Ambassador to South Africa Amrit Bahadur Rai with added responsibility of Zimbabwe and Ambassador to Brazil Tara Prasad Pokhrel (Argentina).
