A Greek national, who was arrested in Manang district for operating a drone camera, was released after he paid Rs 5,000 fine. Petros Nousias was held on Wednesday while flying the drone camera on the premises of a monastery in Chame Village Council-4.
He was taken to the District Administration Office and freed on Friday. Assistant Chief District Officer Dhirendra Raj Panta said the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal had instructed the office to fine Nousias and release him. According to the government regulations, one must secure permission from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to use drone cameras. (PR)
