A teenage girl died after a van hit a scooter she was riding on at Narayangadh in Chitwan district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Barsha Acharya, 19, of Patihani of the district.

Critically injured in the incident, Acharya was rushed to the Chitwan Medical College in Chitwan, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

The van (Na 1 Cha 5422) hit the scooter (Na 36 Pa 5112) at around 12 pm.

Police said that the van driver fled the scene after the incident while they have impounded the vehicle for investigation. RSS
