At least seven inmates were injured in a clash that broke out between two groups at the District Prison in Dailekh on Saturday morning.
Narayan Shahi and Upendra Pun were critically injured in the incident and are receiving treatment at the District Hospital, Dailekh.
Police said that five others sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Tension gripped the district prison for sometime following the clash over a minor issue, police Inspector Yogendra Khadka said.
The prison houses 100 inmates—80 male and 20 female.
